An end-of-day note should make tomorrow easier, not prove that the day was busy. Record only changes and observations another person may need to continue safely.
Separate completed from observed
List shipped edits with their routes and verification evidence. Put search or traffic observations in a separate section so a same-day fluctuation is not presented as the result of today’s work.
Preserve unfinished reasoning
For an open item, name the question, current evidence, next check, and owner. Avoid “continue SEO work,” which forces the next person to reconstruct both purpose and scope.
Keep the note short
Link to detailed artifacts rather than copying them. A useful closeout can be scanned in a minute and still tell a reviewer which public state exists.
